Gyro and Osborn on their way back downrange

Gyro and Tyler

Well the party is over for now. Gyro and Osborn are on their way back down range. They left this morning at 0600 from the Springs and should be arriving in country in about 24 - 27 hours. Osborn and his family took off and went back to VW for his leave and by all accounts it was a productive time. Gyro spent time at home and was able to enjoy Thanksgiving as well as his daughters birthday right here at home. We were only able to get out and ride once before the weather turned but it was still fun. Stay safe brothers, and we are looking forward to your safe and speedy return. Remember we are going to the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley in June when you get home.

Florence Vets Home Run 6 Feb 2010

Many thanks to the Warriors and friends that made the trip to the Florance Veterans Home on 6 Feruary.  Despite freezing temps we had 14 bikes and a few cages that made the trip there and back.  Jeff did a great job organizing the donations!

Christmas comes to B Troop 3-61

p1_3rd_platoon_0

The soldiers of U.S. Army's Bravo Troop 3-61 Cavalry didn't spend Christmas with their families. Afghanistan was their holiday host. But Christmas spirit still managed to travel thousands of miles, thanks to the generousity of the American People, the hard work of the VFW Warriors, the American Legion, Target Corp. and Computer Science Corp.

The union created the COP Keating fundraising effort, which launched after word spread that members of Bravo Troop 3-61 Cavalry from Fort Carson, Colo., lost all their personal possessions after they were forced to call an air strike on their own position in an Oct. 3 attack by insurgents. The 56 survivors were left with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and their weapons, but the COP Keating fundraising effort brought in more than $100,000 to provide comfort items for them. Two batches of items have arrived in Afghanistan.
